We're devs, just like you and, when we have a bit of time, we're writing things here in the hope that someone finds it useful.
We know how it is to waste hours (sometimes even days) fiddling with an issue. The answer is out there, but it's not always easy to find. And when something potentially helpful does come up, it's not always clear how to use it.
Keep it short
Don't you hate it when you're reading an article about something, you have to scroll past that really long intro? So do we. It's such a waste of time.
We write to the point. Short & sweet!
Text and code only
On websites that explain how to code something, images are almost always irrelevant.
All you need is some explanation and some code examples. Those silly stock images have no place here.
Videos about coding have their place, but in most cases they are a waste of time.
As opposed to text, it's not as easy to skip over the bits you're not interested in. And where is the code?
Show me the code
Get to the code as quickly as possible, without long explanations, because most readers are trained to read the code.
console.log('And the code is more fun to read 🙂');
